A laugh…
So I have become pretty friendly with a reader of this blog. She does not have a blog. She emailed me a few months ago and we talk multiple times a week - novel length emails about everything. She found my blog when searching for people like her going through infertility. She eventually got pregnant via IUI and is expecting a little girl!!!! :)
This girl and I have a very similar sense of humor. She has been an awesome support system to me just via email - which blows my mind when I really think about it.
Anyways… I wanted to share with you part of an email she sent me (with her permission of course) that made me laugh so hard!
The back story is…..we were talking about how people “just don’t get it” with regards to IVF… Here is her sarcastic take on what they think goes on…..
My little rant in my last email is more for people in your situation-and just how naive I think people are about what goes into this whole process. I told some of my friends about your journey and they are so clueless, like “I had no idea those were the steps to In-Vitro.” Oh really? Well good, because I’m actually lying. It’s just 13 dollars and it’s one visit to the office if you’ve had a little trouble getting pregnant. There’s no testing or anything, they just go straight down to business. They extract the eggs and sperm with a rainbow and put them back in with sunshine. Then you get a free vacation at a fabulous beach resort where you are showered with gifts for the new baby you will have. It works every time and it totally painless.
Wouldn’t that be nice! :)
