I started the follicle stimulating injections last night. I am used to doing the lupron injections with tiny needles and the follistim injections from last time that came in the pen but neither prepared me for the needle that was used for the menopur shot last night. It pretty much is the same needle used for progesterone. Here’s the thing, I don’t see the progesterone shot going in. I have my eye’s squeezed shut while that one goes in the muscle. That is much different then watching myself shove this one into my belly. Oh dear lord did that make me sick. As I was doing it I started gagging which only made it hurt worse so of course the natural progression would be for me to just start bawling while the needle is hanging out in my belly. Great times at the (Redacted) house last night.
The worst part is that I keep reliving it in my mind and I know I am going to have to do it again tonight and tomorrow night and the night after and so on…..
IVF SUCKS THE BIG ONE. I have really had my fill of needles in the last 6 months. It is just not right.
Going back in on Saturday morning for a date with my friend “the wand” and some blood work to see how things are going. This will be a good indicator of how things are going to go this cycle compared to the last.
